Disappointed

A few hammer taps later, he lets me know he's finished.
I ask "How much will this be?".
"I haven't done much, anything would do."

I take out a single rupee coin from my wallet. After all he hasn't done much, few taps and thats all. And he was probably ashamed to ask for more. Or so I felt.

One rupee coin in his hand, he gives me this WTF look and tells me to be more generous. I take out another two rupees coin, hand it over to him expecting the rupee coin back and no, its all gone.

Bad Monday

Some days are just not cool. Yesterday was one of those days. My only remaining earphones stopped functioning. At night I gave a call to an old friend but then it was cut. I guess someone is angry with me. Stayed awake till very very late to watch Man-chesters United vs Arsenal to see the Gunners lose against their bitter rivals.

Today hasnt been any good either. Woke up exceptionally late, rushed to office, felt drowsy whole day. Got news that the loadshedding hours increased to 8 hours per day.

Looking forward to the MidWeekCrisis tomorrow.

Getting your certificates attested at TU

Getting your certificates is really a simple process. Sadly how do you do it is not documented anywhere. So I want to write down the steps for you.

Getting your certificate attested is costly. One page costs Rs. 50/- at TU office balkhu. So if you have a 4 years transcript (6 pages) and a main certificate (1 page), that would mean 7 * 50 = 350 Rs.

1. Go straight to room number 11 front page. There, at the side will be blank forms hung on a rope. Grab one, fill out the number of pages.

Swimming

in

Every so often, I bang into a new idea or a new want to do something, a new learning perhaps. I will be noting these things down in a kind of TODO, a check list which can be viewed here http://bibekshrestha.com.np/i-want

This early morning, I was reading the Do-Newsletter and figured I should learn to swim. And some day jump into a river.

I jumped in a river with some of the smartest, kindest, friendliest people on the planet.

I would love to do that. But for now, it is to learn to swim.

There are more fun things to life than work

While I was working impatiently today, a friend of mine sent an email that said:

There are more fun things to life than work as well. so keep alive to enjoy that too!

So I called up a friend, went out for coffee and chit chatted.

Made my day today. I hope it made her's too.

MySQL command line backup and restore

A lot of beginners are very much dependent upon phpMyAdmin for their daily work. However a lot of them are not familiar with the basic command line tool like mysql and mysqldump. These two commands can help a lot when I am working on servers without phpMyAdmin installation.

I will show you how to quickly backup and restore database between your local computer and server.

We have a database called dbproject_local which I will migrate to server. The server already has database dbproject_server.
